A Mounted Infantryman

Known for his portrayal of the American West, Remington's artwork portrays a man riding a chestnut and white colored horse. Using vivid colors, done in a wavy-water color-like pattern, creates Remington details the man, lighting his pipe, a rifle resting in his hand. The horse, in mid-step, ears pulled back, walks as the relaxed posture of the man remains upright. The horse points to Remington's influence from Western cowboys and the United States Cavalry.
